Terms for PaySplit

These Terms of Use govern your use of PaySplit, including the iOS app and related support services made available by the PaySplit team. By downloading, accessing, or using PaySplit, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Eligibility

You may use PaySplit only if you are legally permitted to use the app under the laws that apply to you and under Apple's platform rules. If you use PaySplit on behalf of another person or organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms on their behalf.

License

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use PaySplit for lawful personal or internal household and group expense tracking purposes.

• Do not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the app except as allowed by law.
• Do not use the app in a way that interferes with the service, the app, or Apple's platforms.
• Do not use the app for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive activity.

App Functionality

PaySplit helps users track shared expenses, balances, settlements, and optional iCloud-based group sharing. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter, reviewing balances and calculations before relying on them, and keeping access to your device and Apple account secure.

Currency Conversion

Converted totals are approximate. Rates come from ExchangeRate-API, a third-party provider. PaySplit caches the rates, so they may be out of date.

Converted figures are display-only. They are never persisted, exported, used to calculate or settle a debt, or spoken by Siri. All balances and settlements are calculated in each expense's own currency.

PaySplit supports 155 currencies. The provider's current rate set covers 153 of them. SVC is handled separately using El Salvador's statutory 8.75 SVC = 1 USD peg. KPW has no conversion support. If your expenses use a currency without conversion support, PaySplit shows exact native-currency amounts and no converted total. This is normal and permanent, not an error.

CloudKit and Apple Services

Some PaySplit features rely on Apple services, including iCloud, CloudKit, App Store billing, and related Apple platform services. These features may depend on your Apple ID, your iCloud availability and settings, and Apple's service availability.

Subscription Terms

PaySplit Pro is available as auto-renewing monthly and yearly subscriptions.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Any unused portion of a free trial, if offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Current subscription pricing, billing periods, and available offers are shown in the app at the time of purchase.

Payments and Refunds

All subscription billing is handled by Apple. Refund requests and billing disputes must be handled through Apple according to Apple's policies.

User Content and Data

You retain responsibility for the group names, member names, expense records, notes, and other information you enter into PaySplit. You must not use PaySplit to upload, share, or store content that is unlawful, abusive, infringing, or otherwise harmful.

Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the PaySplit Privacy Policy: getpaysplit.app/privacy.

Availability and Changes

We may update, improve, modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of PaySplit at any time. Continued use of PaySplit after updated terms become effective means you accept the updated terms.

Disclaimer and Limitation

PaySplit is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of PaySplit.

Termination

These terms remain in effect while you use PaySplit. You may stop using the app at any time, including by deleting it from your device and cancelling subscriptions through Apple.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in your principal place of business or residence unless mandatory local law requires otherwise.
